IQAC-BUBT successfully organized a workshop on November 21, 2024, at 2:30 PM in the Meeting Room-220 of the Shahid Sujon Mahmud Building. The primary objective of this workshop was to provide all departments with a comprehensive overview of the 34 tasks required to meet the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) standards.

The workshop emphasized the importance of timely and effective task completion to achieve BAC accreditation, with a target deadline of December 31, 2024. It reinforced BUBT’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence and institutional quality through collaborative efforts.

Mr. Zaved Mannan conducted a detailed presentation on tasks such as the Student Handbook, Strategic Plan, Sexual Harassment Policy, Profile Viewer Data, Student Database, Core Values of the Department, Teaching-Learning Activities, Code of Conduct Handbook, Work-Integrated Learning Events, International Admission Policy, Health and Safety Program, Orientation Program, Counseling Sessions, Alumni Association Program, and Stakeholder Feedback that need to be completed to ensure a smooth accreditation journey.

The workshop was graced by the presence of distinguished participants, including Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice Chancellor, BUBT; Prof. Md. Abu Saleh, Advisor, BUBT; Dr. Md. Ali Ahmed, Treasurer, BUBT & Member, PSAC, Civil Engineering; and Dr. Harun-Or-Rashid, Registrar, BUBT. Deans of various faculties, including Prof. Sayed Anwarul Huq (Faculty of Arts & Humanities), Prof. Dr. Syed Masud Husain (Faculty of Business & Social Sciences), Dr. Abul Lais M. S. Haque (Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences), and Prof. Dr. Syed Sarfaraj Hamid (Faculty of Law & Justice), also actively participated.

Key contributors included Prof. Shanti Narayan Ghosh, Director, IQAC; Mr. Zaved Mannan, Additional Director, IQAC; and department chairmen and faculty members such as Prof. Dr. Sharmina Afrin (Management), Md. Sayeem Bin Hafiz (Finance), Md. Saifur Rahman (CSE), Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan (Mathematics & Statistics), Md. Sabbir Ahmed (English), Mr. Ashif-Ul-Haque (Law & Justice), Dr. Mohammad Raihanul Hasan (Marketing), and Dr. Kazi Naeema Binte Faruky (Accounting).

The workshop also included the participation of program-specific accreditation committee (PSAC) members, including Ms. Zannatul Ferdus, M M Fazle Rabbi, Md. Mamun Hossain, Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Md. Sabbir Hasan Sohag, Eshita Datta, Ms. Sadia Mehrin, Mr. Shadman Ahmed Khan, Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Mofiz, Md. Sanaullah Shamim, Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Md. Reza Hassan Khan, Md. Shirazur Rahman, Mr. Sirajul Islam, Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hassan, Md. Aminul Islam, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Mr. Ariful Islam, and Mrs. Subrina Akter.

The session included:

1. A detailed presentation on BAC accreditation requirements and the 34 critical tasks.
2. Collaborative discussions on strategies for timely task completion.
3. Insights and recommendations from senior university leaders to address challenges and streamline processes.

The workshop concluded with a call to action for all departments to work cohesively to ensure BUBT not only meets but exceeds BAC standards, thereby strengthening the university’s reputation for quality education and institutional integrity.
