Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) observed World Cleanup Day 2025 on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the university premises, joining the global movement to create a cleaner and greener world. The program began at 9:00 AM with the presence of distinguished guests, faculty members, administrative officials, supportive staff, and students.
The event was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of BUBT, Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of environmental awareness and collective responsibility in building a clean environment, stating that everyone must work together to ensure a sustainable future.”
Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmed, Treasurer of BUBT, attended the program as a Special Guest and in his remarks, he emphasized the role of students and young volunteers in leading social change through such global initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, BUBT, also addressed the program as an Honored Guest. He encouraged students to integrate cleanliness and environmental care into their everyday lives.
During the occasion, Md. Ismail Hossain, a member of the supportive staff of BUBT, was awarded the Best Cleaner of the Year Award in recognition of his dedicated service.
After the inaugural session, volunteers and invited guests divided into groups and actively took part in cleaning the university campus and its surroundings. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, administrative officials, staff members, and a large number of students. Members of different clubs of BUBT also joined the campaign and contributed to the success of the event.
