August 27, 2025, The Trophy Unveiling and Inauguration Ceremony of the BUBT Vice Chancellor’s Football Tournament 2025 was held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the International Conference Hall of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). The event was organized by the BUBT Sports Club. The tournament was announced to officially begin on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the BUBT Sports Complex.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the honorable Vice Chancellor of BUBT, Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of sports alongside academic excellence. He noted that football tournaments like this not only inspire physical fitness but also build leadership qualities, discipline, and teamwork among students. He further expressed his optimism that the Vice Chancellor’s Football Tournament would strengthen the sporting culture at BUBT and motivates students to engage in healthy competition.

Distinguished guest Mr. Md. Shihab Rizwan, Member of the BUBT Trust and Advisor of the BUBT Trust Career Guidance and Sports Advisory Committee, also addressed the gathering. In his remarks, he highlighted the commitment of the BUBT Trust to promoting sports and extracurricular activities. He said that sports develop perseverance, determination, and fair play, which are equally important in real-life challenges.

Another special guest, Prof. Dr. Syed Sarfaraj Hamid, Dean, Faculty of Law, and Chief Moderator of the BUBT Sports Club, also delivered his speech. He appreciated the efforts of the BUBT Sports Club in organizing such a grand tournament and mentioned that student participation in sports builds unity and friendship among different departments.

The event was attended by Deans of various faculties, Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director, IQAC and the Registrar of BUBT, along with the President, Secretary, and Moderators of the BUBT Sports Club. Faculty members, participating team members, and a large number of students were also present, creating a festive atmosphere.

The Trophy Unveiling and Inauguration Ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting sporting event, aiming to foster team spirit, sportsmanship, and student engagement at BUBT.
