A discussion meeting was held at the International Conference Hall of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, to commemorate July Mass Uprising Day 2025. The event aimed to respectfully remember and reflect on the significance of this historic day.

The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Mostafa Firoz, Editor of Voice Bangla. In his speech, he highlighted the background of the July 2024 Mass Uprising and stated, This movement proved that it is the youth who can reshape the course of the nation and build a future free from autocracy. He called upon students to become conscious, responsible, and active citizens.

Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Honorable Member of the BUBT Trust, graced the event as the Special Guest. He remarked, The courage, prudence, and collective efforts of students ignited a new awakening across the nation, which ushered in a new dawn.

The session was presided over by Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Honorable Vice Chancellor of BUBT. In his address, he said, The July Mass Uprising reminds us of our commitment to democratic practices, human values, and civic responsibility. Vice Chancellor ‍also highlights exemplary instances of renowned global leaders and rulers to shed light on the kind of leadership we should aspire to in the future.

Also present at the event were family members of the martyrs, BUBT Registrar, members of the Board of Trustees, Deans of various faculties, faculty members, administrative officials, staff, and the courageous BUBT students who had actively participated in the July 2024 uprising.

The discussion program served as a powerful message to the future generation about the enduring importance of the struggle for democracy and social justice.
