Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) proudly announces the remarkable participation of its students in the Youth Skills Conference 2023, a prestigious event jointly organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and The British Council, powered by FutureNation. This conference, held on September 13, 2023, at the elegant Radisson Blue Water Garden, Dhaka, provided a platform for young minds to explore and nurture green skill sets, promoting sustainable economic development.

BUBT students who attended the conference were from diverse academic backgrounds, including the English department, the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department, and the Textile department. They included Tasnin Ahmed, Md. Chento Mia, Haydar Ali Miah, Rahat Bin Preo, Al Muieez Bin Haque, and Jahedul Haque Araf. These young scholars embraced the opportunity to expand their horizons, gain invaluable insights, and network with like-minded individuals.

Key Highlights of the Youth Skills Conference 2023:

Panel Discussions: The conference featured panel discussions on "Challenges for Youth to Take Initiative to Address SDGs" and "Skills of the Future." Distinguished representatives from renowned organizations such as the World Bank, Grameenphone Ltd., British Council, USAID, and UNDP participated, offering valuable perspectives on these vital topics.

Youth-Led Projects: The event showcased 13 youth-led projects from 8 divisions of Bangladesh, highlighting innovative solutions and ideas that can contribute to the country's sustainable development.

Special Guests: BUBT students had the privilege of interacting with esteemed guests, including Nasreen Afroz, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of NSDA; Kanni Wignaraja, Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP; HE Ms. Sarah Cooke, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh; Stefan Liller, Resident Representative, UNDP Bangladesh; Tom Miscioscia, Country Director, British Council Bangladesh; Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone Ltd.; and Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP, Deputy Education Minister of Bangladesh.

Md. Abdul Quayyum, Head of Communications, UNDP Bangladesh, delivered the first session on "Skills Training for Youth," emphasizing Sustainable Development and the SDGs. Joya Chowdhury, Education Specialist, The World Bank, conducted a session on "Green Skills for Future Employability," shedding light on the significance of green skills and their practical applications. Mahmudul Hasan, Programme Officer and Youth Coordinator, UNDP Bangladesh, led the session "Green Start-Ups," highlighting the need for environmentally conscious businesses.
