To mark the 47th martyrdom of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day' 2022, Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) organized a ‘Discussion Program and Doa Mahfil’ on August 16, 2022 at the university campus.

The Swadhinata Padak (Independence Award) recipient Mr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Former Secretary (acting) and SDO of Barguna Mahakuma (District) was present as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Shamsul Huda FCA, Hon’ble Chairman, BUBT Trust was present as the Guest of Honor while Prof. Dr. Md. Fayyaz Khan, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BUBT presided over the program. Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Member, BUBT Trust spoke as the Special Discussant. Prof. Dr. Md. Ali Noor, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Prof. Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities were present as the Special Guests respectively.

The Chief Guest Mr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed said that the assassins brutally killed the family members of Bangabandhu. They are being tried and sentenced as per law of the land.

Prof. Dr. Md. Fayyaz Khan, the Vice Chancellor of BUBT called on the young generation to work diligently to build the ‘Sonar Bangla’, the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He said that there is a need for extensive research on various aspects of Bangabandhu's life and conspiracies made against Bangabandhu and Bangladesh need to be explored.

The Special Discussant Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Member, BUBT Trust said that the liberation war was not just a 9 month-long war. Bangabandhu initiated this war in 1947. Bangabandhu is the father of the Bengali Nation. Pakistanis did not dare to kill Bangabandhu but the people of this country dared to kill him. We should love him and his ideologies.

Hon’ble Members of BUBT Trust, Treasurer, Deans of all faculties, Director of IQAC-BUBT, Chairmen of different departments, Registrar, Controller of Exams., Proctor, Joint Director of Accounts & Finance, teachers, students and staff of BUBT were present in the program.
