The Department of Textile Engineering of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) successfully organized “Textile Day 2.0”, a day-long celebration highlighting the innovation, creativity, and opportunities within the textile sector. The event took place at the university’s permanent campus and was organized by the BUBT Textile Club.
The day’s schedule featured a range of exciting activities including a Quiz Competition, Poster Presentation, Exhibition, Seminar, and a vibrant Cultural Program, all designed to engage students and showcase their talents alongside industry insights.
The highlight of the event was the seminar titled “Current Scenario and Future Challenges in the Textile and Textile Job Market.” The session was graced by Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of advanced skill development, innovation, and global competitiveness in sustaining Bangladesh’s leadership in the textile industry.
Engineer A. S. M. Hafizur Rahman Nixon, Executive Director of RH Corporation (a sister concern of Aziz Group), attended as the Keynote Speaker and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the changing dynamics of the textile job market. He underscored the value of technology integration, sustainability, and adaptability for the next generation of textile professionals

Distinguished guests Professor Dr. Syed Masud Husain, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, attended the seminar as Special Guests. Their inspiring remarks encouraged students to remain proactive and informed about industrial transformations and future opportunities.
The seminar session was chaired by Mr. Naeem Ahmmed, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering, and Moderator of the BUBT Textile Club. The event was coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman Khan, Assistant Professor and Acting Chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering, BUBT.
The day concluded with a colorful cultural program celebrating the creativity and unity of textile students. The entire celebration reflected BUBT’s commitment to bridging academic excellence with industrial relevance and preparing students for the evolving global textile landscape.
